Where it came from
Grindset blends “grind” and “mindset” and emerged from hustle-culture posting around 2020. In March 2021, an Instagram page began pairing the sigma male meme with clips from American Psycho to mock this mindset as “sigma grindset,” and the ironic version overtook the sincere one.
