tweaking

Meaning

  1. Acting erratically, anxiously, or irrationally.
  2. Overreacting to something minor.

“He’s tweaking because his order was two minutes late.”

Where it came from

The word began as slang for the jittery, paranoid state of someone high on methamphetamine, in use since at least the 1980s. Online slang stretched it by the 2010s to cover any exaggerated, erratic reaction, unrelated to drugs.
